Corundum-mullite castable is made primarily of brown corundum and mullite aggregates, using micronization technology, and formulated with white cement and additives.The mullite in corundum-mullite castable is relatively rare in nature, possessing high purity, high density, good microstructure, low creep rate, low thermal expansion, good thermal shock resistance, and strong resistance to chemical corrosion. Mullite's resistance to high-temperature creep is far superior to that of high-alumina products. Mullite forms a protective film during use and exhibits good flexibility.It is suitable for use in high-temperature, wear-resistant, and highly corrosive applications.The high-temperature performance of corundum-mullite castable is comparable to that of magnesia, silica, and corundum products in some aspects. It has excellent thermal shock resistance and considerable resistance to acid and low-alkalinity slag corrosion.Corundum mullite castables are widely used in refractory materials and other industries.
